I think this all comes down to if the money is there for it.

 

It's kind of double edged really, is it worth their money to make it? And if they release it to the C-Store (which let's be right, is probably where it'll end up eventually) will people buy it. They said initially the technology didn't exist for this or the Saucer separation but now we have the retrofit Exploration cruiser there's no real reason other than time or money to not expect this.
