    I don't think the question is whether or not someone will buy Cryptic. After all, who wouldn't want such a fantastic company. I don't think it really matters.

    Atari divesting in cryptic only means that they are no longer paying Cryptic's bills. Based on their track record, Cryptic will actually be making a profit next year with their current offerings, Champions and Star Trek Online. By then, Neverwinter should be launched, and the profit margin should grow significantly with it. There is still that other secret project in development, and I'm sure development resources will be shifted in that direction, which will certainly eat up some of their profits. But, even so, they will be a viable entity on their own. I don't think Cryptic will need a parent company to tell them what to do. But if they do, I just hope that they will find a home somewhere that will allow their company to grow without stiffling their creativity. Long Live Cryptic Studios!
